VIROQUA, Wisconsin – In a lighthearted moment captured on video, Officer Carter Jamieson of the Viroqua Police Department in southwest Wisconsin found himself in an unexpected situation during a winter storm on Wednesday, Jan. 18 2023.

The incident occurred as Officer Jamieson stepped out of a doorway, only to turn back and ensure the building’s door was securely closed. To his surprise, the action triggered a cascade of snow from an awning above him.

Describing the amusing incident, Jamieson shared, “(Our dispatcher) was watching it happen. I walk back inside, and she’s just on the floor, laughing. She just thinks it’s the funniest thing in the world.” Having joined the department six months ago, Jamieson humorously remarked, “I’m the snowman. That’s who I am now. I’m just a snow guy.”

The video, shared by the Viroqua Police Department on Facebook, has garnered attention online, with Officer Jamieson expressing surprise at the unexpected reaction. The department’s post on social media humorously stated, “Viroqua Officer Carter Jamieson hopes you have a safe and uneventful evening with the forecasted winter storm.”
